Well, it seems as if David got inunaded with information about how british the brits are but I'm not sure that's what he was trying to find out
Steve, I really like that quote by the way and sorry guys but me and David have to talk...one to one..so I'll chose the language of my heart :
Mon cher David,
A+
Corinne
P.S.: don't mind my fellow club members David, they all sound a bit mad but it doesn't show too much when you meet them!!!

You might be but I am English
You think?
Being English is about driving in a German car to an Irish pub for a Belgian beer, then travelling home, grabbing an Indian curry or a Turkish kebab on the way, to sit on Swedish furniture and watch American shows on a Japanese TV. And the most English thing of all? Suspicion of anything foreign.
- from a letter to "The Telegraph"
I drive a car made in Newcastle and dont go out to pubs only Olde English ones, I hate take aways as they are all made out of Donkeys bits and pieces that once hung about, I have a Settee that comes from middlesex and I only watch Ealing studio films on a TV made in Swansea.
Admittedly I dring French and italien vino. _________________ Proud to be Triathlon Swim Coach to Deal Tri. Personal Tri coach to Julie Williams GB age group squad 2005 member. GB European team member 2006.

I think I should point out that "David" raised the original question back in September 2005 and he probably isn't still reading this thread!
But its good to have Ally back though isn't it! He is probably coming over to watch the next Duathlon and have a go round the track. _________________ Still waiting for the great leap forwards!

And me thinking that I was about to meet David...what a blonde! I hadn't even noticed that his query was dated last year!!!
Anyway, this is turning into the funniest thread I read in ages! Well done Gary on the Plastic Bertrand's words, even the French never understood what he was talking about? Mind you, it has to be said...he's Belgian!!!
And well done Ally on your Ch'ti, it's impressive. Hope you're going to join the ride on 30th September, we haven't seen you for ages.

I'll be joining you certainly for the morning of the 30th the duathlons are more difficult due to it being a god bothering day and all that, I know you only work one day a week hahaha.....
Ch'ti is more than beer Monsieur Dugard its the beautiful languauge of the Nord Pas de Calais.... a way of life, an attitude, le bonheur et chaleur din Ch'Nord, it's about biting winds and pavé it's l'echappée belle, the tour de Dunkerque, it's frites and amber beer, it's tired legs and a wind burnt face, it's the decent from the blanc nez to Calais. It's the languauge or the irridoutable people from Montreuil to Maubeuge,Calais to Cambrai, uls gens din Ch'Nord. And after 3 years of studying French and living here for 4 years I'm only just begginning to understand what they say...
Chuffed to bits today lost 2.5 kgs this week.... But I've got another 4 pinarellos to go... Ah well I enjoyed putting it all on. Even managed 1000 m crawl in the pool but my strokes a mess, must be the underdrag as the gut goes through the water. But we have an excellent new pool in Calais..
Promised the kids another IM before I'm 50 and to run a marathon with my daughter when she's 18....
By the way Corrinne you do write French beautifully... very jealous.
Just to point out that Yes!, I do work in France, but it is in the "British Control Zone" The only local I speak to is your Mrs. _________________ Ian Pettitt
