Hey Ally, don't you get hypochondriac like all those French people please! Having said that I wouldn't mind any of your leftover medication please.
Well done on your running Rich and do come out again on Sat with us. It's a bit fast and a bit painful but that's the way to improve! hope you can also make the Audax Ride.

Well after a week of feeling tires after the double race w/e and a rather laboured tracksession on wed, i did the fowlmead du-athlon today and had by far my best race which was very pleasing as i did not expect it at all.
I think it was helped by the fact that i had company on the bike for 31/2 laps and that i had to run really hard to stay in front of Jill on the 2nd run. That only happened i freely admit because Jill did the inter-counties x-country yesterday, which is far more important and well done to you for that.
Some more back twinges and spasm's but nothing to stop me as todays result proves.
Next week i intend to do a turbo session whilst watching Ice age 2 on DVD !!!! and then its the thanet 20 on sunday where my target is 2hrs 30mins.
this will be my first race as a 45 year old !!!!! ( god i'm getting on ) after my birthday on friday

As your unappointed coach and trainer Rich, forget the Thanet 20 and get on the bike for a 4 hour level 1 spin out down to Hastings/Rye. Its will be much more use for your Ironman in 9 weeks time. We know you can run the 20 miler, the bike split is the key, even more so in Lanza! _________________ Still waiting for the great leap forwards!
One I wish you Happy Birthday for either this Friday or next, your only as old as you feel and sometimes how you look and act, well you do very well Rich, one you don't look 45, two you certainly don't act and old 45, and I'm sure you don't feel 45 except when you've done to many beers.
Have a great day and I look foreword to training you a year older _________________ RN ASA Swimming Coach, ASA Swimming Teacher,Water Polo Coach, also Open Water Coach, Channel Swimming Coach to all the Relays and Four Solo Swims from England to France
well another year older i am and i did race the thanet 20 on sunday and put in my best time for 8 years, indeed in this milenium of 2 hrs 31 mins mind you the last 3 miles were hard and i was glad to see the finish and i have to say that i was in no mood to run back down the course like i used to after !!! Plus my back almost siezed up, but a good stiff charlie training swim session in the evening sorted that out and i felt better for it as did Mo who won the inagural Ashford tri off road du-athlon earlier that day.
I have run today very slowly and am plannoing to go to the track 2moz but am not looking forward to the 9 x 800m i have to do as part of my marathon build up. i am planning to do some serious cycling well for me anyway in the first 2 weeks of April and will be looking for people to go out with on most days and ride between2 and 5 hours with of course a coffee stop included as standard !!!!!!!!!!!
might even get in the sea as it looks like i'll be doing a relay swim again this year in early july !!!!!!
Well i've done quite a lot in the last month and i've done the half marathon today at paddock wood in 1hr 34mins which was quicker than the other 2 i've done in the last 5 months but it i found it very hard and it drained me a lot, plus i was very stiff afterwards, still i'm no longer 21 !!!! I have now signed up for the channel relay swim organised by Dave Chisholm and am looking forward to it.
My weight contnues to hover at just under 13st and i am running around 30miles a week and intend to spend a large portion of the next 2 weeks putting in a large amount of cycle training due to the ironman, but after that its the marathon on 22nd where i hope to get under 3hrs 20mins
am still drinking my beer to relax every night
well true to my word i have done some cycling this week, around 60 miles on monday and 50 with the club on wed. Both rides felt very good and i felt strong on the hills on wed, in etween i did one short run of around 4miles until today when i did the folkestone 10 which was my most dissapointing race in over a year. I clocked 73-58 on a very good day for running and it felt very hard indeed, my legs were like lead and i knew from step one that i was not going to get anywhere near 70mins, plus when i finished i had all sorts of aches and spasm's going on in my back which has happened a few times now and is a little worrying , but its only a hobby so i'll keep an eye on things and see how it go's on the club bike ride tommorow, plus some swims next week as well.
time for a coffee and cake now
